Hey darlings
I want to begin this blog entry by apologising about the quality of the pictures I have been taking for this blog, I am in the process of researching cameras so I can pick the right one for me :)
I have recently found out the John Lewis 10 minutes away has a NARS counter, I only visited because I was going to Bobbi Brown as I'd missed out on the gel eye liner on buyapowa, and there it was, NARS, after either ordering online or waiting till I was in Selfridges or Harvey Nichols, well let's just say I was very happy!
Paramaribo & Lhasa
Paramaribo - I was very scared of this colour before seeing it in the flesh, all the swatches online, both by bloggers and stockists just made me think it would look ridiculous on me. However once I had swatched it for myself I couldn't be more wrong and could not wait to get it home and try it out!
I love the yellow/gold tones of the lighter shade. Online they are described as Metallic Brass & Bronze. The darker shade is definitely a brass, and although it is not a colour I would of purchased separately, both these colours work so beautifully together, another amazing duo! Definitely for those who are getting bored of the standard smokey eye and looking to put together a more sexier 'Arabic Smokey Eye'.
Lhasa - In the pan it's a very normal taupe, nothing spectacular that would make you particularly excited, but in my experience with NARS singles it's always very different after swatching, it almost transforms and looks very a lot better (does that even make sense??!) anyway after swatching Lhasa you can straightaway see that this isn't just another taupe. It has lovely lavender lilac metallic undertones and I know I will use this shadow a lot, especially as I have brown eyes, I know the undertones will be very flattering.
All in all I love the new collection, the only eyeshadows I didn't like enough to purchase was the trio, I really didn't find any of the colours flattering. The lipglosses are so so pretty!
Have any of you tried any of the Spring collection, purchased or thinking about it?
They're gorgeous colours, I love NARS' eyeshadows but at times I really can't justify the splurge!
ReplyDeleteThey are almost like butter, I love the colours and how they blend, but they do leave my wallet sobbing! I really have to think twice and have a walk around before paying as I'm such an impulse buyer!x
